Atlanta based singer/songwriter Jolanda Porter is a talent on the rise. Featured in JET Magazine’s “Blacks Who Rock” alongside Lenny Kravitz and spotlighted as one of Lucky Magazine's "Most Stylish Girls in Music", Jolanda’s unique voice and presence is being noticed. As lead singer and lyricist for her band, Wishes and Thieves, Jolanda has performed at the world renowned South by Southwest Festival and received accolades from publications like Interview Magazine, Last. FM, and Pitchfork. Jolanda has been described as a “rare talent” with a “sultry… powerhouse” voice, that emotes through “clever and passionate lyrics.”
From touring the east coast, being named one of “30 Black Women in Indie Music You Should Know,” by For Harriett, as well as, being highlighted by Afropunk alongside Grammy artist, Janelle Monae; Jolanda has been blessed to have these succeses; and yet, her most anticipated achievement is still the works... Wishes and Thieves is poised to release their first full-length album next Spring!
